Tasneem Kawoos Tops J&K Civil Services (Judicial) Exam
Tasneem Kawoos, a Srinagar native, has clinched the top position in the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Services (Judicial) Examination, 2023, scoring an impressive 628 marks out of 1000. Out of 208 candidates who appeared for the exam, 69 successfully cleared the interview stage.
Kawoos, a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), is currently pursuing her LL.M. at the same institution. Reflecting on her exam experience, she highlighted the evolving nature of exams, emphasizing the need for analytical thinking and clarity of legal concepts over rote memorization.
"The trend has changed," Kawoos remarked, "exams don't demand extensive theoretical answers, but the focus has shifted to appraisal of legal issues involved, which requires an analytical approach and clarity of concepts."
She stressed the importance of disciplined study routines and the use of legal journals for efficient preparation, noting that they provide concise summaries of judgments, saving valuable time.
In addition to her top rank in the Civil Services (Judicial) Exam, Kawoos also secured the 8th position in the Prosecuting Officer (PO) examination conducted by the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
Kawoos's achievement serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work required to excel in the field of law, inspiring aspiring lawyers across the region.
